Diggin’ a Hole

When you were a kid, did you try to dig a hole to China? Well children, now you’ll know where to dig with a new tool powered by Google Maps. Details (and a fairly long story) after the jump.

Developed by Luis Felipe of Brazil, this Google-maps-powered site lets you pick a point of entry and discover the point of exit for any deep hole that goes straight through the center of the earth. Just select your first point and then wait for the map to scroll. Click “Dig here!” and you’ll quickly discover the endpoint. Adjust the zoom and you can explore the exit point in exquisite detail.

This is an invaluable for tool for any and all neurotic hole-digging Kindergartners as well as anyone who’s curious about which points on the earth “connect”. Recommended.
