Essential Windows Utilities: ZoomIn

There are times when I want to take a closer peek at part of my screen, whether I’m examining details in a digital picture, checking out the graphics on someone’s webpage or making sure that the lines and buttons I laid out are correctly aligned. ZoomIn a tiny utility from Brian Friesen at Cal Poly came to my rescue.

ZoomIn allows you to select any part of your screen and magnify it. Simply adjust the ZoomIn window size as desired and then drag the magnifying rectangle from that window onto your screen. As you move it around, the ZoomIn window updates showing a magnified view of the area within the rectangle. You can even save the magnification to disk as a bitmap image. This is a great easy-to-use Windows utility that can help you examine items on your screen in a new way. Microsoft Windows Only, Free.
