Yahoo! News and Blog search

Yahoo! News now includes blogs in its search results. “At times,” reads the Yahoo! Search Blog, “even everyday bloggers beat the mainstream media to a story.”

Pretty cool, right? Except search results from blogs appear in a narrow column on the right hand side of the page, the area where text ads usually appear. Hmph. Yahoo also says that Flickr photos and MyWeb links will be included in news search results as well, presumably to get all those cameraphone shots from citizen reporters out to searchers asap.
