For reasons unknown, my Automatic Windows Updates (which are turned on) didn’t alert me to the patch this morning. To install the patch, in Internet Explorer go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and scan your PC for updates and get the latest patch. It requires a reboot (ah, Windows) as well.
"Fruitcast automates the process of inserting ads into podcasts. We download a podcast’s MP3 audio files, add the advertisements on the fly, and then send them to the podcast’s subscribers. Each time a podcast episode is downloaded, the advertiser is charged a certain amount, and a significant portion of that amount is credited to the podcaster."
"iDupe is designed to process duplicates and dead tracks in iTunes in a smart way. Recent versions of iTunes have a “Show Duplicates” command. But it is of limited use. First, it offers no good way to remove duplicates while keeping one version of a track. Second, there is no good way to identify which tracks are actually duplicates as opposed to different versions of the same song, the same song with different bitrates, etc."
iDupe works very well. It’s a bit slow when scanning large selections of files, but it’s accurate and allows the user to make any final decisions. If you’ve got a problem with duplicates or dead files in iTunes it’s worth checking out.
iDupe is shareware ($8) and looks to be for Mac OS X only.
"Want to take your notes with you? No problem. Connect your iPod and there you go. Just one click and your Wiki is on your iPod. Just look under Notes and find a folder named like the exported Document. There are all your pages. They are linked up and split in 4-kb portions, so your iPod understands them."
Wikinotes is free and looks to be for Mac OS X only.
