Indicom Music store
TATA quietly launched their online music store about a month back. However, I have been unable to gather much information about it, because Indicom does not operate in my area, and this store can be accessed by people on Indicom IP’s only. This music store claims to charge Rs. 9.99 per song, which seems like a bargain, but with that price, there must be a catch which I don’t yet know about.
It also seems that TATA charges these directly to the broadband bill. This is what their page says:
"With a repertoire of over 300,000 songs across all genres like Pop, Rock, Films, Regional, Spirituality and more you will be sure to find your kind of music in the Tata Indicom Broadband music download store.
Each song you download gets stored on your computer and you can listen to it as many times as you like. You can also make 2 copies of it, one to a CD and another to a portable music player."
So, does India now have a rival for the iTunes music store, or is it just another failure from the unreliable TATA, only time, and some much wanted input from Indicom users will tell. Click here to visit the Indicom Music Store.
